If you know a kindergartener through 2nd grader who loves to dance, sing, act, and let their imagination run wild, this is the perfect fit! These 30-minute shows offer an ideal introduction to the performing arts and the magic of live performance.

Educational Programming for Grades 3-5
Saltwater Performing Arts is excited to offer engaging educational programs for elementary-aged children in grades 3-5. These fun-filled productions focus on learning the basics of theatre, from socialization and theatre terminology to timing, choreography, and, of course, putting on the show itself.
Over the course of 16-18 weeks in a fee-based workshop, every participant will earn a role and have the opportunity to showcase their skills in six live performances in front of a real audience.
These charming productions are not to be missed! The talent and effort displayed by these young performers is truly unforgettable—perfect for introducing school-aged children to the magic of live theatre.

The Mainstage: Where It All Began
The Mainstage program brought to life the vision of our founder, Megan Friese-Kaufman, with its very first production in 2014. Over the past decade, it has grown tremendously, evolving Saltwater into the four dynamic troupes we celebrate today.
The Mainstage troupe, made up of middle and high school students, brings two full-scale Broadway productions to the stage each season—one in the spring and one in the fall. These performances have become so popular that we often double cast the shows, meaning the performances are so spectacular, we do them twice! Each of the six shows only gets better, with outstanding vocals, perfectly synchronized dance routines, and detailed sets. The Mainstage productions are where it all began and continue to be a must-see experience.

Encore: Where Talent Knows No Boundaries
When we saw so many talented young performers aging out of our program, we simply couldn’t bear to say goodbye—and who could blame us? Encore was created for those graduating from our Mainstage program, as well as community adults. By combining both groups, Saltwater has discovered something truly special—limitless talent and creativity.
Encore offers three exciting program options:

Encore Plays – Featuring classic straight plays like Much Ado About Nothing and Steel Magnolias (Season 11).

Encore Family – Including beloved productions like Shrek the Musical and The Sound of Music.

Mature Content – Showcasing productions like The Producers (Season 10) and this October’s Young Frankenstein.
Encore is a wonderful opportunity for friends and families to collaborate across genres. After all, bringing the community together is at the heart of what we do.
